Holstein Kiel starts the second half of the season with squad changes. The club hopes for a better second half after mediocre performances in the first half. Midfielder Robert Wagner leaves the club and returns to Bundesliga side Freiburg. As a replacement, Umut Tohumcu comes from league competitor TSG Hoffenheim. Tohumcu is expected to boost Holstein Kiel's weak offense. The 21-year-old has already gained experience in the German youth national team. Sports manager Olaf Rebbe praises Tohumcu as a versatile midfielder who combines intensity and goal-scoring threat. Holstein Kiel is currently in 11th place after only five wins and 20 points. The Bundesliga relegation side wants to perform better in the second half of the season. Coach Marcel Rapp expects a lot from Tohumcu, especially in terms of offense. Tohumcu himself is motivated to contribute to a successful second half. The club has also signed 19-year-old Tayar Tasdelen, who will join the team in the summer.
